Kim
Kim Bailey is a long-time proponent of physical exercise, whether it be running long distances or doing regular strength and conditioning work at the gym. She knew early on of its positive impact on both physical and mental health. Among her physical activity achievements, Kim has run 68 marathons throughout the world including 8 consecutive Boston’s.

Kim was diagnosed in 2017 with a debilitating birth defect that will eventually result in her hip replacement. She credits maintaining a positive mind set as well as training wisely as main tenets in her ability to adapt with a debilitating diagnosis. In the face of obstacles, Kim ran a 125 km ultra-marathon in the mountains of northern Alberta and completed all 17 legs of the Cabot Trail Relay Race in Nova Scotia.

As far as world treks go, Kim hiked the West Highland Way and the Great Glenn Way in Scotland, Hadrian’s’ Wall Walk across England, the Camino de Santiago from France to Spain, and Vereda do Areeiro in Madeira to name a few. She even led a group of 6 hikers to the base of the Grand Canyon and back, and recently summited Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal!

Kim just don’t know how to quit. She recently became the first PEIslander to join the World Major Marathon (WMM) Hall of Fame having completed her 6th of 6 WMM in the spring of 2023. These include New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Berlin and most recently, Tokyo. The importance of sport and giving back to community are central to who Kim is as a person. She is an active member of the Board of Directors for Andrews Dream Big Assist Fund, recognizing the sense of community physical activity can provide as well as the importance of giving back in the form of volunteerism.
